May/June Hospital Stay

At the end of May, my mommy and daddy noticed that I was having some trouble breathing again. I had very strong stridor and deep retractions (my chest sucks in when I breathe). So they took me into the hospital and the doctor's were very concerned. They were thinking about putting in the dread tracheotomy.

My mommy and daddy had lots of questions and did not feel that a tracheotomy was the best solution for me. So they talked with the doctor about some research my mom had done regarding a new procedure where they pin back one of the vocal cords. The doctor then did some of her own research and found that the doctor that did this procedure was out of the Mayo Clinic.

So after five days in the hospital, I was doing pretty well again, and the swelling in my throat that got me in here had gone down. So we headed up to Mayo to meet with the doctors up there. Mom and dad felt the trip was very helpful. But they were not the ones getting poked and prodded at, but I think mommy cried as much as I did sometimes. Today we are still waiting on some additional tests to be completed to get a better idea of why I have this problem and what (if anything) should be done to fix me.
